Cervical Facet Identification

nerve Nov 21, 2025

Cervical facet identification made simple.

Use the nerve roots and vertebral body anatomy to confirm your level, then roll posteriorly to visualise the joint. Remember: the facet is named from the level above - the joint at the 5th nerve root is C4/5.

Always confirm in both short and long axis for confidence in your scan.
